چکیده

Abstract The objective of this work was to evaluate air layering, cutting, and grafting, with different indolebutyric acid (IBA) rates, for the vegetative propagation Eugenia involucrata. Air layering carried out two consecutive years five IBA rates. Cutting tested woody herbaceous cuttings, using four in three seasons. grafting methods – cleft graft splice were For trials experimental designs randomized complete blocks, completely a 3x4 factorial arrangement, randomized, respectively. Plants evaluated rooting, survival percentage, shoot development. In low rooting rates 0 50% observed, use showed no consistent results, resulting propagules survived after being transplanted. cutting technique survival, leaf retention effect Grafting 35 fixation, significant difference between techniques. techniques are not efficient E. involucrata, as they do favor seedlings. Grafting, by both techniques, is most method involucrata propagation.

On the Vegetative Multiplication of Chondria

As far as we know, there is no single case recorded where vegetative multiplication, by a body having dense cellular structure, was observed in any algae belonging to Florideae. Schrnitz and Hauptfleiscli tell us in Fngler and Prantl's Die nattirlichen Pflanzenfamilien"2~ that vegetative multiplication is not known almost entirely in Rlaodophyceae. It is known, in Ban giaceae, some cells remain...

Two new species of Lepidiella (Diptera: Psychodidae: Psychodinae) from the Atlantic Rainforest of southeastern Brazil

Currently, the Neotropical genus Lepidiella Enderlein, 1937 comprises ten species, only one of them recorded from Brazil. In this paper, two new species of this genus are described from the Atlantic Rainforest of the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. Lepidiella robusta sp. nov. can be distinguished from all known species by the relative size of the first flagellomere, twice as long the second. L...

Three New Species of Phytotelm-Breeding Melanophryniscus from the Atlantic Rainforest of Southern Brazil (Anura: Bufonidae)

Three new species of Melanophryniscus are described from the Serra do Mar mountain range of the state of Santa Catarina, southern Brazil. All species are found at intermediate to high altitudes and share phytotelm-breeding as their reproductive strategy. The new species are distinguished from other phytotelm-breeding Melanophryniscus based on different combinations of the following traits: snou...

Genetic diversity of Burkholderia (Proteobacteria) species from the Caatinga and Atlantic rainforest biomes in Bahia, Brazil.

The genus Burkholderia (β-Proteobacteria) currently comprises more than 60 species, including parasites, symbionts and free-living organisms. Several new species of Burkholderia have recently been described showing a great diversity of phenotypes. We examined the diversity of Burkholderia spp in environmental samples collected from Caatinga and Atlantic rainforest biomes of Bahia, Brazil. Legum...
